CONCORD, NH — Twelve exceptional high school students hailing from Concord, Alstead, Derry, Gorham, Greenland, Hampton, Hanover, Hollis, Weare, and Windham have emerged as victorious recipients of the esteemed National Merit $2,500 Scholarships for the year 2023.

The much-anticipated announcement was made on Tuesday, unveiling the 12 triumphant students among a pool of over 2,400 finalists, handpicked from a staggering 15,000 participants. The program commenced back in October 2021, when juniors underwent the PSAT/NMSQT exam as part of an initial screening process.

In the subsequent fall, the highest-scoring individuals from each state, constituting less than 1 percent of the nation’s high school seniors, were officially recognized as semifinalists.

The selection committee carefully chooses the National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winners based on a culmination of remarkable achievements, exceptional skills, and the potential for excellence in rigorous college studies. The proportional representation of their graduating high school seniors nationwide determines the winners from each state.

Let’s take a moment to recognize these accomplished students:

Heartfelt congratulations to all these accomplished students for their exceptional achievements and well-deserved recognition.
