The rankings compiled by Niche, which are currently in their ninth year, differ from those compiled by other organizations in that they take into account the opinions of students, alumni, and parents in addition to the quantitative data compiled by organizations such as the United States Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.
According to the company, the rankings were intended to provide families with essential quantitative and qualitative information about schools located in their community or in a neighborhood they are unfamiliar with, regardless of where the families live.
The rankings of the Best Schools, just as in previous years, include categories for boarding schools, charter schools, magnet schools, and schools that focus on STEM and the arts, among many other subjects.
