Dublin, NH Authorities detained a Concord man in Dublin, New Hampshire, in connection with an armed robbery at the Bank of America on Islington Street in Portsmouth in September.
After finding his presence in Dublin, Portsmouth Authorities Department investigators worked with Dublin authorities to detain 39-year-old Anthony Cicirelli without incident. Cicirelli is facing a single robbery charge and was hauled into jail on Friday morning, according to Portsmouth police.
Cicirelli apparently entered the 848 Islington Street bank wearing a black shirt, a winter hat, shorts, sunglasses, and a black face covering on September 23. He claimed to have a firearm but did not show it throughout the heist. Following the encounter, Cicirelli allegedly escaped toward adjacent railroad lines with an undetermined sum of money.
Police Investigation
The police did not disclose information about the sort of weapon used or the exact amount of money seized. However, authorities stated that other pieces of evidence were left at the scene and were later discovered by Portsmouth officers with the assistance of K9 Crash.
The police noted in their official news release, “As this case remains under investigation, we are withholding specifics about the investigation and arrest.” These are allegations, and all defendants are assumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
Cicirelli is now being held at the Rockingham County Jail while awaiting his arraignment in the county’s Superior Court.
The Portsmouth Police Department thanked various agencies for their help in the investigation, including the New Hampshire State Police, FBI, Concord Police, and Dublin Police.
