Last week, we had the opportunity to speak with Christine and Brian Ivinjack, co-owners of Route 77 Motors in Weare, New Hampshire.

Route 77 Motors opened up shop in 2004 when Brian was working for the Red Cross, organizing blood drives.

Christine tells us, “We frequented auctions to buy and sell, for the love of cars, as well as doing repairs. And one time by chance at a vehicle auction, we met a gentleman looking to sell a building and a lot, that we thought could be established as a pre-owned dealership and repair shop.”

So Brian and Christine jumped right in, “We sold our house in Dunbarton to purchase the property for the business. So for us, it was sink or swim from day one,” Christine says.

And 17 years later, the Route 77 Motors team has grown and the Ivinjacks have built a trusted and local landmark for many drivers in Weare and the surrounding areas.

“We’ve added an entire sales department along with financing options,” Brian said.

And to show their appreciation, last September, Route 77 Motors hosted their first Customer Appreciation Day, complete with a food truck, car show, and special offers on inventory.

The event was sponsored by the NH Muscle Car Club, which showed off some of their best-in-class. Christine tells us, “It was a lot of fun. We had lots of customers stop in, have a bite with us, and check out some of the really cool stuff NH Muscle Car is doing. We’ll definitely be making it an annual event.”

Lou Berendes, Sales Manager at Route 77 Motors says, “We provide a personal experience for our customers. Whether that’s sales or service, our team wants to build a relationship with a customer for years to come. And, if they’re in the market for a specific vehicle, we can find it.”

Route 77 Motors has also started providing additional vehicle sales offerings, such as a “Pre-Owned Lease” which functions just as a typical new-car lease would, but is applied to a pre-owned vehicle. This can be a great option for drivers that like to trade in every couple of years and do not want to worry about lengthy loans for financing.

But, being in business for 17 years doesn’t come without its challenges. During the 2008-2009 economic crisis and following the Cash For Clunkers Program, it was a difficult time for many businesses, especially automotive dealers and service centers.

And now, with the COVID-19 pandemic, we asked Christine how Route 77 Motors has responded and how business has been, Christine told us, “We’ve been very fortunate to be so busy and to keep our staff busy. Last year, quite a few customers coming with homemade snacks, it was very heartfelt. We knew we had to remain in the community.”

Going forward into 2021, Christine and Brian said they are very optimistic. “It seems people are starting to get out more, and we’re always getting some really great inventory in. We’re excited about the future, and look forward to being a part of this community. Next time you drive by, stop in, say hello, we’re always happy to make that first connection.”
