Recently, our team had the chance to speak with Jason Spencer, co-owner of Premier Dent Repair New England. We asked him a few questions about his mobile-first dent repair business here in New Hampshire and got to learn more about how he and his business partners got started.
Can you tell us a bit about the history of the business?
Jason: Paintless dent repair origin is debate in the industry with the most common story being that it started in Mercedes Benz factories as dented panels piled up they needed an answer for this issue. It has been around for a long time and is one of the best-kept secrets in the auto industry.
As the business owner or representative, what are you most proud of about your business?
Jason: From its inception, the idea behind Premier dent repair in New England was to bring the highest quality repairs and service possible. In our first year, we were able to accumulate more 5 star reviews than any other PDR company due to our dedication to these ideas.
What do you enjoy most about your business?
Jason: There are a few things that I truly enjoy about this business but if I had to choose one it’s the ability to restore a car to new or close to brand new condition when people think it’s not possible. Seeing the customer’s excitement and often a relief when they see the end result is amazing.
What challenges does your business face?
Jason: The biggest challenge we face is educating customers on the fact we exist. So often even though this trade has been around for over 50 years people still have rarely heard of the process.
What does the work/life balance look like at your company?
Jason: The thing that no one told me when I got into this industry is that for a lot of the people that get into it, PDR is their job and also their hobby. In a way, it becomes a huge part of your life always trying to challenge yourself. So for a lot of us, we are “always working” with learning and discussing dents and damage with other dent guys.
Where do you see your company in five years?
Jason: In 5 years I hope to be able to bring in a few more people that are looking for a trade and industry they can truly be passionate about. We plan to grow as large as possible only as long as we can maintain our focus on premium quality and service.
