After eight years of dedicated service to rescuing and rehoming cats in need, Cat Tales Rescue in Seabrook, NH, has announced that it will be closing by the end of the month. The decision comes as the result of the landlord’s plan to revamp the property, making it necessary for the rescue to vacate the premises by April 1st.

The volunteers, who have tirelessly worked to save over 6,000 lives, are heartbroken by this unexpected closure. Their primary focus now is ensuring that the remaining cats find loving homes before the deadline.

How You Can Help: Adopt a Cat Today

Cat Tales Rescue is urging the community to consider adopting a cat and providing them with a forever home. Their Clear the Shelter promotion is continuing through March, offering a $100 discount on kitten adoptions.

Meet & Greets

Meet & Greets are held every Sunday from 11 AM to 2 PM (unless otherwise noted). Upon arrival, be sure to scan the QR code on the door to check in and join the queue. You will then receive a text when it is your turn to enter the rescue. Please be patient and respectful to the volunteers as they work to match cats with adopters.

Adoption Process

Applications are required and should be completed online before visiting. Submit your application via email at info@cattalesnh.org for review prior to your visit. After you submit your application, a volunteer will review your application upon arrival. Be prepared for a potential waiting period; not all cats can go home the same day. Please bring a cat carrier, even if same-day adoption is not guaranteed. Children under 12 are not permitted inside, but video calls with family members are allowed. A volunteer will assist in finalizing paperwork and providing essential adoption information.

For additional details, visit Cat Tales Rescue’s adoption page.

About Cat Tales Rescue

Cat Tales Rescue was founded with the mission to provide a safe haven for all cats in need. The organization has worked diligently to offer a clean, healthy, and loving environment while they wait for their forever homes.

Cat Tales has partnered with rescues across New Hampshire and beyond to help cats from high-kill shelters, the streets, and homes where they could no longer stay. Their dedicated volunteers and veterinarians have ensured that every cat receives proper medical care and emotional support, helping them transition into loving homes.

Although the rescue is closing, the volunteers hope that their mission will live on through the families who adopt and care for their rescued cats. They also encourage donations and support for local rescues still in operation.
