A Beloved Concord Tradition
This summer, the streets of downtown Concord will come alive once again as the beloved Market Days Festival returns for its 51st year. From June 26 to 28, Main Street will transform into a bustling pedestrian zone filled with music, food, art, and community spirit. The event is hosted by Intown Concord, a nonprofit organization committed to community. This free, three-day event celebrates all that makes Concord special.
What to Expect at the Festival
More than 150 vendors will line the half-mile stretch between Centre and Hills Streets, offering everything from handmade crafts and artisanal jewelry to delicious local fare and unique retail finds. No matter what you may be looking for, the vendor booths promise something for every interest and taste.
Entertainment and Family Fun
Entertainment is a cornerstone of the festival experience. There will be three performance stages. They will be located at Bicentennial Square, Eagle Square, and Main/South Main. Each will feature a dynamic lineup of acts, including local bands, nationally recognized performers, talent competitions, and even outdoor movies. For families, the KidZone offers plenty of interactive fun, including bounce houses, face painting, puppet shows, arts and crafts, and a Touch-A-Truck display that’s always a hit with young visitors.
Market Days is designed to be accessible and welcoming to all. The event is free to attend and will take place rain or shine. Many food and drink vendors accept credit cards, though some are cash-only. The beer tent is equipped for both cash and card payments, while the KidZone bounce house ticket booth also accepts Venmo.
The Vision Behind Market Days
Beyond the entertainment and shopping, Market Days serves a deeper purpose. What began in the 1970s as “Old Fashioned Bargain Days” has evolved into a cultural mainstay that draws over 50,000 attendees each year. It strengthens community ties, supports local businesses, and brings people together in celebration of Concord’s creativity and civic pride.
