We had the opportunity to speak with Erin McCarthy From Studio Eames, to learn more about how it all started for her and the Interior Design company!
Can you tell us a bit about the history of the business?
Studio Eames is an architectural and interior design studio, located in Goffstown NH, founded in 2020 by Erin Eames McCarthy. While the company may be young, Erin has been in the industry for over 10 years and the creation of her own company is a dream come true. After earning her degree in architecture, Erin spent several years traveling and studying art and design. By observing different cultures’ architectural styles, building techniques and décor Erin broadened her perspective on design. She studied in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and Italy. Through her experience working under an interior designer in Portsmouth, NH, she found her passion was in a combination of services; architectural design and interiors. Studio Eames was born to provide clients with a blend of both specialties, offering residential clients services ranging from drafting plans to the selection of the accent pillows on their new sofa. Studio Eames works with town building inspectors to ensure your project is built to code. The studio specializes in additions, renovations, and interior furnishings serving the greater Southern New Hampshire area.
As the business owner or representative, what are you most proud of about your business?
I am most proud of my ability to connect with clients, understand their needs, and deliver their vision. That moment when I have visualized what they’re looking for and their reaction is “yes, exactly!” as I lay it out in a presentation is the best feeling! Seeing it all come together is even better.
What do you enjoy most about your business?
I get to meet some great people through Studio Eames. I have the best clients and work with great contractors and vendors. Working together with good people to bring a project to fruition is an incredibly enjoyable part of my business.
What challenges does your business face?
We find balancing our pipeline a challenge. It’s hard to know how many clients to take on at a given time. How many is too much? We want to be as productive as possible but never spread ourselves too thin for the current client projects onboard.
Where do you see your company in five years?
I see Studio Eames growing and hiring more design assistants to build a larger client base. I’d like to work with more builders on larger-scale projects and expand into more towns in the area. Looking forward to watching the company grow!
Is there anything else you would like to let us know?
When you do what you love, it brings its own balance. I set a daily schedule of must-do chores and also carve out time for Rock climbing, snowboarding, and other activities – the same way I advocate for my members to do.
Where do you see your company in five years?
I see us being at our max of 60 members, where the members get personalized attention and are doing all the activities they love with confidence!
