The Nintendo Switch 2 officially launches this Thursday, June 5. The console is the successor to the best-selling Nintendo Switch, which has sold over 150 million units since its 2017 debut. GameStop has announced a “pre-ring” event scheduled for 3 PM on Wednesday, June 4; the day before launch. According to information from store representatives and social media, this event is intended for customers who preordered the console and paid a deposit. These customers can finalize their payment early, receive a ticket and receipt, and then pick up their system at the midnight launch with minimal wait time.
Walk-in purchases may be available, but policies vary by location. Some stores seem to be planning midnight sales, while others will wait until regular business hours. Customers are strongly advised to call their preferred store on June 4 to confirm availability and procedures.
