As Concord celebrates Women’s History Month, we are proud to highlight local women who are shaping our community in meaningful ways. This year, we turn the spotlight on Cassie O’Brien, founder and owner of Worthy Mind & Movement, a downtown studio rooted in inclusivity, strength, and connection.

Cassie opened Worthy Mind & Movement in September of 2022, but her journey into entrepreneurship began with a simple intention: to create a space where everyone feels welcome.

She began teaching in 2021, following a long personal relationship with yoga that spans nearly two decades. What started as a passion for movement quickly grew into something bigger. Cassie saw an opportunity to build a studio where people of all bodies and fitness levels could feel accepted, encouraged, and supported.

Worthy Mind & Movement reflects that vision. The studio offers a variety of classes, from yoga and slow flow practices to strength training and group fitness, all designed to meet people where they are. The goal is not perfection. It is presence, progress, and community.

Cassie holds certifications in Yin Yoga, BUTI MVMNT, and Primal Flow, and completed her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher training at Sharing Yoga in Concord. Her diverse training allows her to blend mindfulness with functional strength and creative movement, offering members a well rounded experience.

Before opening the studio, Cassie built a successful career in editorial. She began as a community news reporter and later led the editorial department at an e-commerce startup in Washington, DC. That background in storytelling and leadership now informs how she runs her business, with clarity, purpose, and an emphasis on authentic connection.

Still, she describes studio ownership as her most rewarding chapter yet.

At Worthy Mind & Movement, the focus extends beyond fitness. Cassie is intentional about fostering a safe space where people can move their bodies, reconnect with themselves, and have a little, or a lot, of fun along the way.

In a city that thrives on small businesses and strong community ties, Worthy Mind & Movement stands as a testament to what can happen when passion meets purpose. Through her leadership, Cassie O’Brien has created more than a studio. She has created a space where Concord residents can gather, grow stronger, and feel worthy just as they are.
