Lasik of Nevada Dr. Rothman

For more than two decades, LASIK of Nevada has remained one of Nevada’s longest-standing independent laser vision correction practices, combining advanced technology with decades of surgical experience to help thousands of patients reduce or eliminate their dependence on glasses and contact lenses.

Founded in 2005 by Richard C. Rothman, M.D., LASIK of Nevada was established as an independent physician-owned practice focused exclusively on providing personalized vision correction—not as part of a national corporate chain. That independence has allowed the practice to invest in leading technology and customize care around each individual patient.

Today, Dr. Rothman brings 35 years of vision correction experience and 29 years of LASIK experience, making him one of Nevada’s earliest and most experienced LASIK surgeons. He has also been honored with acceptance into the esteemed World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences as a Fellow since 2023.

Dr. Rothman brings his experience of more than 80,000 successful laser vision correction procedures to LASIK of Nevada, making him one of the highest-volume refractive surgeons in the state.

LASIK of Nevada believes in creating a comfortable, top-quality LASIK experience.

Throughout its history, the practice has consistently been an early adopter of new technology. LASIK of Nevada became the first provider in Nevada to offer the Allegretto laser platform, setting a new standard for precision and visual outcomes.

Dr. Rothman’s expertise also extended beyond patient care. He became a certified national trainer for the Allegretto WAVE™ laser, educating military ophthalmic surgeons across the United States on advanced laser vision correction techniques.

As technology continued to evolve, LASIK of Nevada expanded its surgical capabilities by incorporating both Allegretto and NIDEK excimer laser systems, allowing surgeons to select the most appropriate platform based on each patient’s corneal anatomy, prescription, and visual goals.

The practice also adopted the Ziemer femtosecond laser, replacing traditional mechanical blades with bladeless flap creation technology that provides greater precision, safety, and customization during LASIK procedures.

Recognizing that successful outcomes extend beyond the surgery itself, LASIK of Nevada developed a comprehensive approach to patient care. Every prospective LASIK patient undergoes advanced tear film evaluation to identify dry eye disease before surgery. When appropriate, treatments such as punctal plugs and dry eye therapy are incorporated into the treatment plan to optimize healing and visual outcomes.

The practice also introduced its Premium LASIK program, which combines LASIK or PRK with a one-year assurance plan, comprehensive postoperative care, dry eye management, and unlimited follow-up visits, giving patients continued support throughout their recovery.

Today, LASIK of Nevada’s physicians and clinical team collectively represent more than 100 years of LASIK experience, reflecting decades of specialized expertise in refractive surgery.

As laser vision correction technology continues to advance, LASIK of Nevada remains committed to the same principles it was founded upon: physician-led care, personalized treatment planning, investment in advanced technology, and helping patients achieve visual freedom with confidence.

After more than 20 years of serving Nevada, the practice continues to be recognized as one of the region’s most experienced and specialized providers of laser vision correction, with a legacy built on innovation, education, and patient-centered care.
