In this difficult time I encourage everyone to engage your neighbors.
Growing up in a small town in Maine, I remember everyone knowing every family on my street. All us kids knew and played together. All our parents knew each one. If someone whose in need, we all helped each other out. Yes, things have changed but now is the time to take a step back and remember that we all are Americans and we are all patriots.
I would especially encourage all of us to engage our elderly neighbors. Even in the best of times, our elderly neighbors are forgotten, isolated and alone. Please make an effort to check in on them. See if they need help. A drive to the grocery store, make a meal to share, to try to bring a smile to their faces. Get their phone numbers and give them a call. We all have needs during these times, and our neighbors need us more than ever.
A smile and a helping hand goes such a long way. Again, we are all patriots, let’s act as such.
Now we have an unprecedented opportunity to recreate a world that was intended to be. A world where we were   engaged with our neighbors, our community, and our faith.
We are the greatest nation that the world has ever seen. Let us never forget this.
God bless America!
