The New Hampshire Department of Administrative Services (DAS), the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and the New Hampshire facility have announced that the next information session about the construction of a forensic psychiatric facility will take place on Monday, July 31, 2023.
There is no hospital in New Hampshire that is suitable for treating acute mental illness in forensic patients, including those who are civilly committed to treatment. The construction of a forensic mental hospital adjacent to New Hampshire Hospital will provide forensic patients with expert psychiatric treatment in a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.

The new 24-bed forensic mental hospital, which will be erected adjacent to New Hampshire Hospital, will provide forensic patients with skilled psychiatric care in a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.
