For more than 30 years, the New Hampshire Marathon has been one of the state’s best-kept secrets. Set against the backdrop of Newfound Lake and the Lakes Region’s rolling hills, the race offers runners and families a community-oriented event in a spectacular natural setting.
This year’s races take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with all events starting at 9:00 a.m. Runners can choose from a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, or the kids’ marathon, which finishes with its last mile on race day.
Supporting the Community
One of the most meaningful aspects of the New Hampshire Marathon is its commitment to giving back. Proceeds from the race support three local nonprofits that strengthen the region year-round.
Circle Program
Founded in 1993, Circle Program serves girls from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds across 32 towns in the Lakes Region. The program combines residential summer camp with year-round mentoring, providing consistent support that helps participants thrive.
Tapply-Thompson Community Center (TTCC)
Based in Bristol, TTCC builds community through youth, teen, and adult programs as well as family events. From the Apple Festival to Halloween in Bristol, the center offers opportunities for connection and support, all grounded in values of inclusion, stewardship, and collaboration.
Mayhew Program
In August, we discussed the impact of the Mayhew Program across New Hampshire. Operating since 1969, the Mayhew Program works with boys from low-income, foster, or at-risk backgrounds, offering tuition-free summer camp, mentoring, and ongoing guidance. More than 2,400 boys have participated, with many returning as volunteers or mentors.
